8th Grade Promotion Event at Bartlett

We would like our eighth-grade parents to be aware of our plans for providing a promotion activity for our 8th graders. Our promotion event will adhere to social distancing guidelines with minimal exposure to all parties involved. Our modified promotion celebration will be on Thursday, May 28th beginning at 9 a.m. All 8th-graders who wish to participate may do so while keeping the following in mind:

-Promotion certificates will be presented alphabetically by last name.
-Students with last names beginning with A through F Will be invited to drive through from 9:00 am to 10:00 am.
-Students with last names beginning with G through M will be invited to drive through from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
-Students with last names beginning with N through Z will be invited to drive through from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
-You are welcome to decorate your vehicle
-Please note that there will be no pausing or gathering of students or adults.

In order for the event to run smoothly, we are asking participating families to follow these instructions that will help us to minimize traffic issues and allow us to have a smooth-running event.

1. Students participating must be in a vehicle with a parent or an adult driving, and students must be seated in the front passenger seat. Parents and others in the car must stay in their vehicles and follow the path of the event. Only students will be allowed to exit the vehicles at Stop 2.
2. Vehicles should enter G Street from Morton Avenue and head south approaching the school.
3. When your vehicle reaches the entrance to the school, Stop 1, stop your vehicle and provide your child’s first and last name to the attendant.
4. Vehicles will continue moving south on G street until they reach the corner of G Street and Cleveland Avenue, where the line of vehicles will turn right toward the bus loading area.
5. Vehicles will then enter the bus loading area, Stop 2, where the students will exit their vehicle to receive their certificate from school administration. Vehicles will continue moving west toward Kessing Avenue.
6. Students will pause at a booth where a photographer will take a photo.
7. Students will then continue walking west toward Kessing Avenue along the back fence of the school. Our teachers and staff will be on the north side of the fence congratulating students while maintaining a safe distance.
8. Students will continue to walk towards the corner of Cleveland and Kessing where they will enter their vehicles and leave the area. All vehicles must leave the area once the students reach the end of the activity area.

We thank you in advance for participating and for your cooperation in making this event successful. Congratulations to the Bobcat class of 2020!
