Self Service App Down

As you are aware, many of our students are using district-owned devices to access home learning materials that teachers are beginning to post weekly. We need our students to be aware that the self-service application on our iPads is down. When the application comes back online students will be able to download whatever they need to complete their schoolwork from inside that application.

Last day for Devices!

Please be aware that the last day to pick up devices for students to do their schoolwork online is Thursday, April 2nd. If you have not ordered a device, you must do so before Wednesday, April 1, by noon.

To request a device, please dial 782.7100. When the automated system answers enter extension 3094 and leave a message with Mrs. Lightfoot that includes your name and your child’s name and grade. If your request is made before noon, your device will be ready the following day during lunch distribution between 11:00 am and 12:30 PM. Please remember that no devices will be available after Thursday, April 2nd.

Packets of schoolwork on paper can be picked up on Tuesdays during the regular lunch distribution. Completed work can also be dropped off at the same time. Schoolwork packets are only for those students who have no internet access or who don’t have a device.

Paper Assignments for Bartlett Students Available

We need our families to be aware that beginning Tuesday, March 31st, we will begin handing out paper packets of student work for families who are not able to access the internet or who do not have a device. Packets will be handed out during our regular lunch distribution from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM in the bus loading area at Bartlett.

The packets contain our first week of activities for Bartlett students and can be completed and returned on Tuesday, April 7th during lunch distribution. At that time students will be able to pick up the next package of assignments to be completed for that week.

Please let us know if your students will need a packet by calling 559.782.7100 and leaving a message at extension 3097. Please make sure the message includes your name and your student’s name and grade so that we can have a packet ready for you.

Technology for Students

As we move toward remote instruction, we know that many of our students do not have a device to access and complete their assigned work. If your child needs a device to use at home, you can contact the school at 782.7100.

When the automated message begins, dial extension 3094 to leave a message for Ms. Lightfoot to request a device. Include your name and your child's name in your message.

Requests made before 12:00 noon each day will be processed and an iPad will be available to pick up the next day between 11:00 AM and 12:30 PM. during lunch hours.

Requests can also be made via email via the school website or via social media on Facebook Messenger. Parents must sign for the iPad with the expectation that it must be returned by April 14, 2020 or at the end of the school year if the current closure is extended.

Facility Closed to General Public and Students

We hope that all of our families and our community are doing well as we work through the current situation. As many of you might already be aware, the facility will be closed to the general public and students until we are given further direction.

In the meantime, we will be offering meals for our students between the hours of 11:00 AM and 12:30 PM as part of Porterville Unified School District's efforts to support our families as the situation continues.

We hope that you will continue to follow the recommended guidelines and wash hands frequently while avoiding touching the face or eyes. Above all, we encourage our families to remain at home to the extent possible.
